A YMCA Day Camp Counsellor is responsible for leading and supervising groups of children (ages 5-12) in a variety of recreational, educational, and outdoor activities. They will ensure a safe, fun, and positive environment, promote teamwork, and help campers develop social, emotional, and physical skills. Counsellors also communicate with parents/guardians, assist with daily camp operations, and foster a fun, supportive and inclusive atmosphere.

Cabin Leaders lead cabin discussion groups, offer love and a listening ear (and correction if needed) and care for the daily basic needs of campers. Cabin Leaders also lead various land and water activities according to ability, experience, and interest, and assist in leading teams in various adventure games. The Woodstock Recreation Department maintains a number of parks, playgrounds, multi-sports fields, buildings, green spaces and landscaped areas throughout our town that requires continuous maintenance.
