Working with Public Works and Recreation staff, the Public Works/ Recreation Helper will be responsible for providing light maintenance and landscaping with a focus on customer service.
• Painting municipal assets, such as fencing, hydrants and playground equipment

• Light duty general labour

This position will have two different focuses for the summer. Part of the job will require the employee to maintain the grounds on the property. This would include lawn mowing, whipper snipping, painting. The other part of this position will have you working directly with children in our Sunday morning program as well as taking part in our children's summer camp. This will include planning and helping to implement parts of the program. Working in a Church environment means that odd jobs will come up that need to be done based on the abilities of the employee.

The Cancer Support Program is designed to address the emotional, social, physical, and practical challenges of those facing cancer through offerings of exercise & movement, education & self-development, symptom management, and peer support programs. By expanding these services, the Cancer Support Program aims to provide comprehensive support that helps to improve the quality of life for all participants
Assist the Program Manager of Cancer Support with the daily operations of the community-based Cancer Support Program. Also provide support to the Stay Strong exercise and movement program leaders (Registered Nurse and Physiotherapist).
Key Responsibilities:

Have oversight of the Counsellor in Training program. Assist in the planning and implementation of the training program for camp staff
Post daily schedules for all activities. Plan and facilitate special events (outside resource people are encouraged)
Attend Maritime Conference Camp Training and Camp Stuff Event
Support and work with all staff on the day-to-day operation of the camp
Prepare and plan staff meetings in consultation with the Camp Manager
Work as a liaison between the Board of Directors and the Staff
Work on obtaining grant funding for different areas of need for the camp
Work with the directors of each camp and offer assistance where needed
Complete a staff evaluation form for each member of the paid staff

Act as registrar during camps. Collect registration money from campers on the opening day of each camp.
During the camping season, all phone calls regarding registration are to be looked after by the Camp Manager
Resolve all staff issues or direct them to the appropriate channels

Help the Camp Directors plan and implement activities
Be actively involved with the campers
Be available for rental directors.
Monitor the fire index with Natural Resources daily
Ensure that all private documents on-site or online are dealt with securely
Prepare an end-of-summer report for the Board of Directors
