Under the direct supervision of the shelter manager, duties of the position will include: clean and disinfect indoor and outside kennels, cages, food and litter pans. Sweep and mop floors. Wash and dry towels and blankets. Feed, water, groom and socialize cats and dogs. Administer medications. Maintain records such as medical, intake and adoption files. Deal with the public in person, by telephone, email and Facebook messaging. Assist with fundraising activities.

The role will not just focus on what the residents as a group like to do, but will also meet each of our residents where they are at and build on their personal strengths and goals. We are looking for someone who is fun, self motivated, flexible, reliable, not afraid to get their hands dirty and creative. We are a 24hr facility but it will not involve working overnight, but it will include some Saturdays and Sundays. We cannot wait to hang out with you this summer!

This primarily in-person role may also include online tutoring. Tutors provide one-to-one instruction using the internationally recognized Barton Reading and Writing System (Orton-Gillingham approach) to teach reading and spelling fundamentals to children with learning difficulties. In addition to tutoring, tutors will create engaging social media content and assist with community outreach to raise awareness about LDANB and learning disabilities. This role offers hands-on experience, specialized training, and skills valuable for careers in education, child development, or related fields.
