Summer Students will work primarily with the children and youth ministries at Oromocto Baptist Church (OBC). They will both develop and lead applicable programs and mentor the children, youth, and on occasion, seniors in our community in accordance with the values and culture of OBC. They will work independently and often as a team to develop, organize, lead and enrich our youth and children's programs throughout the entire week. Based on the student's individual talents further learning opportunities may be assigned in the areas of worship, sound/audio tech, public speaking, budget management, administration and social media. Summer student interns will work alongside and report to OBC leadership staff and be coached and mentored IAW their future employment goals. This is an introductory leadership role that will develop and build appreciable and transferable skills.

Under supervision they will complete duties to include reception and greeting responsibilities in person and on the phone. Prepare Microsoft documents and spreadsheets to the best of their abilities. Assist with the running of errands, sort mail, and prepare beverages and snacks in support of church meetings and activities. The Fundraising Manager will be responsible for assisting revenue development through researching and executing a monthly donor engagement strategy, promoting the foundation’s “Doctors for N.B.” coffee collaboration, communicating with existing and prospective donors, researching best practices, and supporting the organization's Foundation Advancement Committee members' activities.

The ability to communicate in both French and English would be considered a strong asset.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in the preparation and execution of our largest annual event, the Family Grief Retreat. The successful candidate must be available to attend the Family Grief Retreat from September 3rd to the 7th. The candidate must be comfortable being around grieving families.
