The nursing student position is a wonderful opportunity for a student to gain valuable experience in their field to be mentored by skilled caregivers in a home that is well known for excellence in long-term care. The student nurse position entails being part of the care team and meeting the residents' physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Everyone works as a team to fulfill those needs. The student would learn how to bathe, feed, transport, and use mechanical lifts for safe transferring. The team takes part in care conferences and care plan reviews. They would also attend any educational presentations at the home and at times assist with recreational programs. They would get to know 50 amazing residents and an even larger number of staff. They would help the residents enjoy the beautiful gardens and they will gain valuable life experiences that would assist greatly with their careers.
