Candidates will engage in both aquatic and terrestrial fieldwork, with responsibilities including monitoring species at risk (e.g., bats, salmon, eel, wood turtle), tracking climate change effects on seasonal patterns, acting as guardians of conserved lands, creating outreach materials, and assisting with data entry.

Terrestrial tasks involve conducting wildlife studies through ground and aerial surveys, managing equipment like acoustic recording units and trail cameras, and performing vegetation surveys to assess habitat types and identify culturally significant species. Aquatic tasks include checking in-river traps, handling, sampling and tagging fish.

As most time will be spent outdoors, candidates must have a positive attitude and be comfortable working in various field conditions (rough terrain, water, bugs, inclement weather, etc.) while being ready to get hands-on. Training will be provided on sampling techniques, habitat recognition, and other necessary activities.
