Assist the activity team with activities with the residents. This includes transporting residents in wheelchairs to activities, taking them for walks, reading, or chatting to the residents, preparing craft materials for activities and generally spending time with the residents.

The Woodstock Recreation Department maintains a number of parks, playgrounds, multi-sports fields, buildings, green spaces and landscaped areas throughout our town that requires continuous maintenance. This maintenance may include, but not limited to, painting, mowing, trimming, garbage removal, annual landscape maintenance, ball and soccer field lining and other maintenance requests deemed necessary by Facilities Director or Maintenance Lead Hand.

The Recreation Worker will be responsible to assist, with the planning and implementation of recreation activities and events in the community. These include sports, tournaments, arts, crafts, summer camps and special events. Collaborating with our camp councilors for weekly activities and organize recreational activities to attract tourism, prepare and gather supplies for activities during cultural, sports, workshops and special events.

The Public Works Laborer will be responsible for maintenance and upkeep of various properties owned by the municipality. Tasks include but are not limited to: cutting grass, controlling weeds, maintenance of flower beds, landscaping and garbage pick up.
Operating Machinery: lawn mowers, lawn tractor, hand held trimmers and spinners, handheld power tools.
The Safety Start Program will be available to provide necessary knowledge and confidence of handling and operating machinery.

Working with Public Works and Recreation staff, the Public Works/ Recreation Helper will be responsible for providing light maintenance and landscaping with a focus on customer service.

Assist in designing and scheduling recreational activities that cater to diverse interests, abilities, and cultural backgrounds. Facilitate group activities such as arts and crafts, music sessions, games, exercise programs, and social events. Provide one-on-one activities for residents who cannot participate in group settings.
